Iris Apfel Show at the Peabody Essex Museum

Three words: You must go. This show features over 80 ensembles created and owned by Iris Apfel, a true maestro of "putting an outfit together." Apfel and her husband owned a weaving mill that replicated antique fabrics and tapestries. But in her personal life, she is a style icon who combines couture pieces with flea-market finds with the antique jewelry she has collected during a lifetime of globe-trotting. (My favorite line from Apfel is her reflection, "My mother worshiped at the alter of accessories.") This display of her favorite outfits inspires women to do one brave thing: Wear what you love. And wear it big.
