LOLE: Live Out Loud In Color

Lole, you have done it again.
A generous and beautiful shipment of Lole has landed at Helena's. Lole clothing is known for it's comfort, excellent fit, somewhat sporty designs with fabulous details and outstanding colors. Their new spring line is knocking our socks off with such cuties as the Lunar Skirt above. Comfortable and feminine, this skirts mixes prints and complimentary colors of orange and blue for a one-two punch. Definitely an easy, breezy spring skirt. It looks super cute with the Kiss T Shirt, that has a scooped out neck with colorful button detailing.

Work It Girl: Fashion show featuring one of our very own!

The designs of Helena's own Catherine Ramos were featured in the Unity Fashion Show in Boston. Catherine, who was also a model in the show (shown on the right), designed and constructed her garments. As the show book states, "Her designs are inspired by the spring colors and are best worn to bring out the sweetness and confidence of a woman." We were happy to be there to support her, and see her work her style on the runway.

Tee Party at Helena's

We are tickled to introduce Tee Party to our spring collection. Tee Party makes delightful dresses and tops all in a cohesive palette of rich berries, to dusty purples. The addition of details like voile panels, and silk ruffles give these pieces a decidedly feminine flair. One of my favorite pieces is the knee length dress pictured above, banded thickly about the waist and tapering gently down this dress cuts a beautiful and unusual silhouette. Perfect for a polished spring look!

Voile Voila!

New Voile is here! Not only is voile a great fabric, but Voile is a great eclectic and funky clothing line. Helena's started carrying Voile last spring and we were impressed by the sheer, fine cotton, beautiful bright colors and prints, and fine stitchery details. We have some great new styles for spring. Our lovely Betsy is modeling the printed halter top. With a fitted bust, smocked back and looser bodice, this tank is an easy fit. The spicy colors and mixed print work great with a simple pair of jeans. If you can't wait for the weather to warm up, you can pair this with a long sleeve solid colored shirt underneath.
Another great look from Voile is the printed tank dress. Here's another retro 50's style sundress, with a fitted nipped in waist and generous skirt. The print on this dress is an especially striking and bold floral print in deep red, hot orange, green, white, and tan, with black accents. Sure to turn many a head!

Anokhi Scarves and Robes

Helena's has just received our spring order from Anokhi and it is gorgeous. Anokhi, based in Rajasthan India, is dedicated to preserving the tradition of the fine hand block printing native to that region. Anokhi prints blend the modern with the timeless, and all on the finest tissue soft cotton voile. We have scarves in a bevy of beautiful spring colors. They make fabulous gifts, and are a great way to introduce a pop of color into an outfit. You can even wear them as a belt, or a head scarf.
Anokhi robes are the best. Very thin and soft, it is the perfect robe, kimono cut with wide sleeves, sash and front pockets. I have two of these robes and I adore them. They are super comfortable and lightweight, and have the same beautiful prints as the scarves.

DEX: Shrug Love

Let's face it, shrugs are hot right now...and we have lots of them in all shapes, styles and colors. One of our newest lines Dex has some gorgeous shrugs that we just adore like this multi colored soft striped shrug above. It's a versatile and useful piece that pairs excellently with a range of colors from soft yellows, browns, blues, purples, to bright pinks. I love having pieces like this shrug in my wardrobe because they help morph simple basics like a tank and jeans into a great "put-together" outfit. A wide brown belt helps to trim up the waist, and accessorising is easy with a Foxy Originals necklace and a stack of multicolored Zad bangles.

What's in the Window this Week?

Kensie, Kensie, Kensie..You have done it again. Our windows are decked out in the latest styles from one of our most beloved lines. Check out this wonderful cactus green silk and linen babydoll jacket. Pleated peter pan collar, slightly puffed sleeves and big black buttons make this playful jacket a charming addition to your spring wardrobe. We have paired it with one of our new printed canvas bags from Elsapel.

Pretty Please...Devon and Kiera, Jules and Jim

Is pretty ever out of style? We are chock full of pretty feminine pieces from Devon and Kiera and Jules and Jim. Fabulous bright citrus colors and soft details will delight the girly girl in you.

This outfit from Devon and Kiera just cries out Spring! Gently crinkled daintily printed skirt has rosettes of fabric adorning the bottom. The wide banded waist makes for an easy fit. It looks great paired with the ruffled cardi in sprout, a Last Tango cami for a pop of color and finished off with a vintage green daisy necklace from Retrobling.

Another outfit which has us dreaming of springtime is this coral ribbon belted maternity dress from Jules and Jim. We adore Jules and Jim's super soft stretchy knits and modern styling. We have it paired with a seasonal embroidered grass green shawl from Nusantara.
