Holiday Dressing Made Easy: Sweet Pea

You have enough things to worry about over the Holidays. Putting together that great party outfit should not be one of them. The staff at Helena's have lots of great ideas to make your season a little less stressful. We have just set up a rack especially for the holidays with some of our most festive styles.Like these wonderful new pieces from Sweet Pea. And they are so easy and versatile that they make dressing up a cinch. I am a huge fan of the long sleeve v neck belted top in blue and black. This is a great piece to dress up a simple black skirt or pants, the striking pattern is bold but elegant and creates a fantastic backdrop for a statement necklace like the crystal encrusted ribbon bib from Zad.

If you like a little naughty with your nice then the ruffle front tank in black and grey python print is just the ticket. We have paired it with this great high-waisted black pencil skirt from Only Hearts to give it that sexy vintage bombshell feel.

We love the versatility of separates but there is always room in our closets for one more awesome dress. The sleeveless v neck dress is a symphony of delicious pinks, plums and oranges. Fun and festive, you can pair it with a long shirt underneath, or throw a cardigan or wrap over it.

Beads, Baubles and Bibs (not for babies)

A bounty of pretty, bold jewelry has arrived. Colorful beaded bracelets and necklaces, shiny silver pieces, and everything in between. Our favorite beauty for the holiday is the sparkly bib necklace shown on the tray at right. With a black velvet backing, and a black satin tie, it tops off every holiday dress with a festive little "pop". Smashing!

So, as you know, we like color. We like colorful dresses, tops, shoes, and of course, bags. As we have often told customers, if you love yellow, but it's not exactly your best color...carry a great yellow handbag. Jessica has brought in some great clutches and shoulder bags for the holiday season. Our favorite well-priced line is Shiraleah (all bags shown at right). These velvet clutches are perfect for a winter party or a sweet night out with the girls.

Pretty Window

Come take a stroll down Franklin Street and see our festive holiday window dressing. Jessica & Jenn pulled all of our favorite dresses and coats in turquoise, soft blue, black and cream. The clothes appear, as they are, cozy and chic. It's a vision.

New Orla Kiely

Our holiday order of Orla Kiely has just landed here at Helena's. This might be my favorite stem variation yet. The Shiny Multi Scribble Stem print combines colors like only Orla can do, with poppy citrusy orange, yellow and limes, tempered with the more sober charcoal, brown and ochre all on an off white background. We have the scribble stem in the classic shoulder bag and big zip wallet (pic above is the sling shape). I have a feeling these won't be around very long...they are already flying off the shelves.

Testament Tops for the Holidays!

We love the designs from Testament! Their signature style is a softly draped look with pretty detail at the sleeve and neckline. And Testament loves deep colors and subtle print. We have leafy print top (far left) in a dark wine print. And we have the paisley print top (closer left) in black. Paired with dark jeans, or a black skirt, both tops are perfect for a holiday get together.
