Notes from the NY Shows Day 3: Intermezzo & Accessories.

The final day of the show was sweet and rainy at the Piers...but we were tucked away inside shopping for fall fashions and new accessories!  We saw the late fall collections from Joe's Jeans, Susana Monaco, and Velvet.  As well as scoped out new sweater and basics lines.   Then we headed off to accessories...

                                     

Selecting bags, jewelry and scarves for the store is serious business!  We shopped in NY for with an eye for shape, color, innovative and usable design, and price.  We think we found some gems!

Bloggers Love Joe's Snake Print Jeans! So do we!

One of our favorite bloggers, Aimee Song of Song of Style featured Joe's Jeans Snake print spring jean on her blog (click to read post).  We have these beauties at Helena's Belmont.  

Notes from the NY Shows Day 2: Intermezzo.

The Intermezzo and Accessories shows were out at the enormous Piers 92 & 94...so good walking shoes are required.  Today was a denim & tee day of sorts, beginning with a visit to James Jeans.  James has extended it's production of the High Class Skinny (a Helena's customer favorite).  This fall we will have the High Class in the black and slate shown here.  The slate is a James Jeans staple!

 

Ella Moss will be new to Helena's in the fall and the line continues to impress.  Lovely dresses and special tops abound!
 

Ella Moss also has lots of denim-friendly tops with a pop of embellishment in studs, lace, sheerness or shine.  There is a divine lurex stripe we will have in for fall!

 

Red Engine for fall has lots of special pieces in the form of jackets, skirts and print denim.  We are in LOVE with the window-pane print denim on the Scorcher for fall...shown here with a new denim blazer from the line.  Fabulous!

Notes from the NY Shows Day 1: Designers & Agents.

Greetings from the NY Shows!  This will seem totally crazypants, but we are buying for late fall/ holiday.  (It's the way this business works, sisters.  Not a live-in-the-moment industry).  We started the day at D&A in Chelsea, which is a relaxed and charming show of smaller independent designers.

 






Prairie Underground looks sweet and modern, with some sophisticated hemp/silk pieces to round out the collection.  We love the Gibson Blouse in Rose, and there are some new knock-your-socks off coats (we are talking to you Mid-Frock Coat!).  The holiday jacket colors include customer-favorite hues: Inkpot, Lipstick, and Faded Iris!

 

Another favorite collection was the fall line from Utility Canvas which showed striking yet wearable prints in jackets, dresses and skirts.  We love the vintage roots of this line.  Knit line Stewart & Brown was also on our list of fall favorites!
